Guv urged to take note of CM's statement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 8: The BJP has urged upon the State Governor to take due note of the highly contentious statement of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while replying to the discussion in the State Assembly on current turmoil in the Valley. The Party has also expressed their resentment over the marshalling out of BJP and some other legislators from the house because they wanted to express their disapproval of the utterances of the Chief Minister, which ran counter to the spirit of Constitution, both of India as also that of this State. The leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta after meeting with the Governor N N Vohra said that it was against the spirit of the Constitution what the Chief Minister stated and tried to make Kashmir a tri-lateral issue between India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir. Prof Gupta asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is legally and constitutionally an integral part of India. Its future is not negotiable because of its being an irrevocable part of the country. As far as Pakistan is concerned, it has no locus standi and their position is just that of an invader, more so, waging a war through various modes, including one that of cross-border terrorism and now mob-terrorism. He further said that as far as the people of the State are concerned, they had ratified the accession made by Maharaja and later on by taking part in the electoral process over a dozen times by taking part in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections by more than a dozen times. Prof Gupta observed the Chief Minister had tried through his controversial, rather anti-constitution statement, just to cover up the failures of his coalition to tackle the menace of mob-terrorism being perpetrated by the separatists and agents of powers hostile to India, who have made the nationalist people of the Valley as their hostages. The BJP leader said that the only issue that remains to be settled with Pakistan is its illegal occupation of large areas of this State for which the 1994 resolution of the Indian Parliament is very clear. Prof. Gupta expressed his disappointment over the marshalling out of the elected Legislators from the House by causing them injuries and insults. In this regard, the BJP leader narrated the Governor about the entire happenings in the House .
