Namisha of Commerce College bags first prize in debate | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, October 09: Namisha of Government SPMR College of Commerce bagged first prize in inter-college debate competition, organised by Government G L Memorial Degree College Hiranagar in district Kathua on the topic, `Is Diversity a Danger to Our Unity”. Second place went to Kanika Sharma of Government College for Women Kathua while Anshul Gupta of Government MAM College adjudged third. Two other participants, Mamta Sharma of Government Degree College Kathua and Shekha Bharati of Government GL Dogra Memorial Degree College were awarded consolation prizes. Prof Yog Dutta and Prof Onkar Singh were members of the jury. In all, 10 colleges of Jammu Province participated in this debate contest wherein 20 speakers spoke on the given topic. Member Parliament, Ch. Lal Singh was chief guest in debate competition, who later distributed prizes among the winners. He also appreciated the efforts of the Principal for organizing such types of functions. Earlier, Principal of the host College, Dr Nater Singh Raina introduced the topic quoting examples. Later, Prof Shally Gupta presented vote of thanks.
