| Academy organises Urdu Mushaira | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 9: A state level Urdu Mushaira was organized by State Academy of Art, Culture and Language in collaboration with Anjuman Taraqqi-E-Urdu (J&K) today at Abhinav Theatre Complex.
Pritpal Singh Baitab, an eminent Urdu poet was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Sham Sunder Lehar a renowned Urdu writer presided over the function.
Savita Bakshi, Additional Secretary (J) and Shamima Akhter Additional Secretary (C) shared the presidium.

The other poets who also recited their kalam and presented new literary creative work included Baitab Jaipuri, Sham Talib, Nighat Nazar Farooq, Raj Kumar Chandan, Liaqat Jafri, Khalid Karrar, Deepak Aasi, Shiekh Sajad Poonchi, Asadullah Wani, Sibt-e-Raza, Prem Romani, Balraj Bakshi, K C Dubey ,Amin Banhali, Ushaq Kishtwari .
In his Presidential address Sham Sunder Lehar appreciated the efforts of Cultural Academy and Anjuman Taraqqi –E- Urdu (J&K) for organizing such a splendid Mushaira wherein all the poets mesmerized the audience with their creativity .
He further suggested that the Academy should hold more such Mushairas outside this premises, so that general masses could participate in order to disseminate Urdu language and literature.
Savita Bakshi presented vote of thanks. In her address she congratulated to the participating poets. She also assured that Academy will extend its cultural and literary activities in the rural and difficult areas in all districts of Jammu region.
Earlier Shamima Akhter, welcoming the guests said Academy is planning to hold some big events in coming days in Jammu and adjoining areas.
The Mushaira was conducted by Javeed Rahi, chief editor in a befitting manner and Randhir Kumar, choreographer was the incharge of function.
