Omar exploiting the sentiments of people : JPPF
10/9/2010 9:49:48 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 9: Jammu Province Peoples Forum (JPPF), a conglomerate of about 50 social, religious, political and traders’ organisations, has flayed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement on accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India.
Talking to the media persons here, convenor JPPF, Pavitar Singh while opposing the statement of the Chief Minister on the floor of the Legislative Assembly, said “Omar Abdullah is behaving like an anti-national entity.”
Omar while winding up a debate on present turmoil in Kashmir Valley had said the Accession of J&K with India was held under an agreement and it has not merged with the country.
“Omar is simply exploiting the sentiments of people. We don’t see any difference between Umar Farooq, Hurriyat Chairman and Omar Abdullah as far as Indian interests are concerned,” Singh charged.
He called upon the Government of India and leaders of all political parties to take the cognizance of the statement of the Omar Abdullah.
“Strong resentment has been shown by the students of different colleges and schools of Jammu region and we have asked them to boycott their classes on Monday to register their protest against the Chief Minister’s remarks as he has violated the sanctity of the Legislative Assembly by questioning the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India,” the JPPF leader said.
Meanwhile, he endorsed the call of Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) regarding boycott of classes in all city colleges on October 11 and 12. The JJSF has called for complete boycott of all class work for two days in protest against delay in appointment of Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu.
