Youth arrested for email threat to President, PM
10/29/2006 11:01:14 PM

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 29
A youth has been arrested in Kerala for sending threatening email messages to President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Disclosing this at a news conference today, Director General of Police Raman Sreevastava said Akbar Raj(26), a computer hardware expert from Kochi, sent the ''malicious email'' to top officials with a motive to trap a girl, whom he met in the Internet chatroom.
Mr Sreevastava said prima-facie evidences in the case did not point to any other intention and there was no security threat to Dr Singh, who is scheduled to visit Kerala on November one.
Further investigations are on to find out whether the youth had any extremist links or motives, he added.
