EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Oct 9: Following murder of newly elected President of Post Graduate College Rajouri on October 6, a husband has axed his wife to death on Saturday in Thandi Kassi area of Rajouri.
As per reports, Tasveera Begum of Thandi Kassi village 4 kilometer away from Rajouri on Jammu-Poonch Highway was axed by her husband Mohammad Tufail early in the morning.
Sources said that Mohammad Tufail pushed his 7 children out from the room and attacked his wife with axe. Within no minute, the wife succumbed to her head injuries, police sources said.
When the news circulated in the area, the residents rushed to the spot and found blood in the whole room. Police also reached the spot and arrested the accused husband.
Although relatives of Mohammad Tufail said that he is mentally disturbed for the last one year and had no intension of murder, brother of Tasveera Begum said that the murder is pre-planned and his brother-in-law is not a mentally retarded man. "This cannot be unintentional murder. He has killed our sister after planning the same. He has pushed the children outside through planning and then attacked and a mentally retarded person would have attacked in front of the children", Mohammad Tufail brother of Tasveera alleged demanding lodging of FIR against Tufail under 302 RPC.
Meanwhile police said that they have arrested the accused and started investigation.
This is the second murder of this week after a College President Ali Asghar Jatt (19) son of Mohd Ayub Jatt of Dhanidhar village was murdered on October 6 when he was returning home with his friends after taking part in celebrations of his election.
Police had lodged FIR No 367 of 2010 under section 302 in the police station against 10 accused among which five have been arrested while five are absconding. The accused who were arrested have been identified as Majid Khan and Sajid Khan, Haji Afzal Khan, Waseem Shah and Tufail Shah. However five others have reportedly absconded.
