‘State's water will fetch 800 Cr annualy’
No vote of thanks motion, assembly adjourned sine die

JAMMU, Oct 9: As many as ten bills were introduced in the legislative assembly today to pave way for setting up of three universities in the state and to ensure proper and judicious use of state's water by various agencies. Later the assembly was adjourned sine die without moving any vote of thanks motion.
The most important among them is L.A. Bill No. 28 of 2010. It was introduced by Minister of Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din. The Bill will deal with everything related to use of water including the measurement, construction, control and management of works with respect to water storage, conservation and protection, the irrigation, water supply, drainage, flood control and prevention, the improvement in the flow of water, courses, lakes and springs, the safety and surveillance of dams, the establishment of the State Water Resources Regulatory Authority for regulating water resources, ensuring judicious, equitable and sustainable management, allocation and utilization of water resources, fixing the rates for use of water and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
If this Bill is passed the state will generate an income of at least 800 crore from NHPC .
Three bills seeking setting up of three universities in the state were passed. The bills will now be sent to the Upper House for consideration and passage before these become law after getting the Governor's assent.
Later the speaker, Mohammed Akbar Lone today adjourned the Legislative Assembly sine-die. However, in absence of Chief Minister, no vote of thanks motion was moved. The speaker thanked various departments and Media for their cooperation and objective reporting. He said that media and Information department have disseminated the proceedings of the House objectively and adequately.

When MLAs almost staged a walkout in protest over keeping the MLA wage bill in abeyance, the speaker shouted: "Will you leave me alone in the house."
Scams and scams
When CPI (M) leader, Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami did not receive an appropriate response to his question regarding misappropriation of provident fund, he shouted: "There are scams and scams in this state."
No vote of thanks motion
For the first time min the history of the state, the assembly was adjourned without moving a vote of thanks motion. The speaker thanked the members and media for their cooperation. However, no vote of thanks motion was moved because Chief Minister was not in the house.
House adjourned for 10 minutes
When the speaker found only 21 members in the house, he adjourned the assembly for ten minutes.
