Pakistan is a problem not a solution: Baba Ramdev,
‘Helpless Omar needs yoga to de-stress himself’
10/10/2010 10:26:21 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 10: Famous yoga Guru Baba Ram Dev has strictly advised against engaging with Pakistan at any level to discuss the Kashmir issue.
Pakistan has no role to play in resolving Kashmir issue, said Baba Ramdev in Jammu on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference here in MAM stadium Baba Ramdev said," At present Pakistan is grappling with variety of problems including food scarcity, therefore, it is meaningless to expect resolution of Kashmir issue by talking with Pakistan.
"Pakistan is itself a problem and not a solution", Baba Ramdev said.
Explaining his stand on the issue the yoga guru further said, "A country which is itself facing bloodiest attacks on its own territory cannot safeguard interests of Kashmiri people".
Tell me how an unstable Pakistan will guarantee stability in Kashmir, how Pakistan which is facing wrath of dictators can bring 'Azadi' in Kashmir?, how Pakistan already working under US pressure can bring freedom for people of Kashmir?.
There is complete anarchy in Pakistan and still people think that talking with Pakistan can help bring resolution to the Kashmir issue, Baba Ramdev said rejecting the idea of holding dialogue with Pakistan to resolve Issue of Kashmir.
On the occasion the Yoga guru also doled out a piece of advice for the state Chief Minister to beat the stress by regularly performing Yoga. Baba Ramdev said, "It is urgently required and Omar must start performing pranayam to beat work stress".
He lashed out at Omar Abdullah for making controversial statements on the status of J&K. It is not appropriate on the part of state Chief Minister to make such statements. His own father has a different take on Kasmir's status and he is striking discordant notes under pressure from unforeseen quarters, said Baba Ramdev advising Omar against making such controversial remarks.
"I know he is a patriot and his heart lies with India but it is difficult to understand why he made such statements". "May be he is under extreme pressure or was facing compulsion to do so to safeguard his own constituency in Kashmir valley, he added.
He further said it is unfortunate that the Centre Government did not react even once to Abdullah's statement in the Legislative Assembly.
Baba Ramdev is on a three-day visit to Jammu region to hold shivir (camps) at Kathua, Jammu, Katra and Udhampur.
The Yog guru, however, left for Katra to pay obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and would hold yoga camps tomorrow at Katra and Udhampur before leaving for Chamba in Himachal Pradesh.
