Semis line-up drawn in Friendship T20

JAMMU, October 10: Semifinals position has been cleared in the ongoing Friendship Twenty20 Cricket Tournament with the entry of J&K Police XI and Singh Cricket Club in last four stages today.
Other two teams already placed in the semi-finals are Diamond Cricket Club and Lower Badyal Brahmana Cricket Club. Now, in the semifinals, to be played on October 12, Singh Club shall take on Diamond Cricket Club at 8.30 am while Lower Badyal shall be facing J&K Police XI at 11.30 am.
Earlier, in today’s quarterfinals, J&K Police (JKP) XI, R S Pura registered a two wickets win over Universal Cricket Club (UCC).
Batting first, after winning the toss, UCC bowled out for 99 runs in 17.2 overs, which, in reply, JKP XI chased for the loss of eight wickets in 15.2 overs. Anil was top scorer from UCC with 39-ball 49 runs. From UCC, Gourav and Naresh shared three wickets each. Later, JKP XI reached the required total in 15.2 overs losing eight wickets with Naresh hitting half century (55 runs off 41 balls, 1x6, 8x4) and Danny contributing 10 runs. Chandan and Anil claimed three wickets each from UCC.
For his match winning innings of 55 runs, Naresh was declared man of the match.
In another quarterfinal of the day, Singh Cricket Club (SCC) defeated Tare Chak Club (TCC) by two wickets. Earlier, batting first, TCC made 137 runs losing five wickets. Pawan Mehra played brilliant innings of 54-ball 74 runs, followed by 24 runs contributed by Vinod in team’s total.
In reply, SCC attained the goal making 138 runs in 19.1 overs losing eight wickets. Jarnail Singh and Navdeep Singh were main scorers with 37 and 39 runs in their respective accounts. From TCC, Suman took four wickets and Vinod bagged two.
