Ex-servicemen rally organised at Skurbuchan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT LEH, 10 Oct: An ex-servicemen rally was organized under the aegis of “Tiger Hill Brigade" at Skurbuchan, which is 140 KM away from Leh town today. It was attended by a large number of Ex-Servicemen and Veer Narees from Kargil and Leh districts. The rally was also addressed by many dignitaries from both army and civil administration. The rally was presided by Brig KS Nijjar, commander, Tiger Hill Brigade. The main aim of the rally was to spread awareness among Ex-Servicemen and Veer Narees regarding the facilities extended to them by army as well as civil administration. In addition, their problems were heard by the senior army officers to guide and help them resolving the same. Civil dignitaries from Leh and Khalttsi were also invited in the rally who made the Ex-servicemen and ‘Veer Narees’ aware of the various welfare programmes and the schemes being run by the State as well as Central government for the Ex-servicemen and the ‘Veer Narees’. Various stalls were put up by the army as well as by the civil agencies to redress the grievances of the Ex-servicemen and the ‘Veer Narees’. Equipment and weapons were also displayed by the army to motivate the young generation to join army. The rally was a grand success since the response from the civil dignitaries, Ex-servicemen and the ‘Veer Narees’ was overwhelming.
