Youth Cong leader decries discriminatory attitude | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 11: Senior Vice-President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) R. S. Pathania has decried discriminatory and lackadaisical attitude of the government towards Mansar lake He said this after conducting an extensive tour of the area. Pathania alleged that successive regimes have discriminated in providing funds developing Mansar. He added that although crores have been spent on beautification and preservation of the historic lake but nothing is visible on ground. He alleged that works have been allotted without tenders and the quality of work is very poor. Pathania has sought an inquiry into the mode of allotment and sub-standard execution of works on beautification-cum-conservation of lake. He has further demanded association of local people with the developmental-cum–beautification works going on here in order to ensure greater accountability and public emancipation. He has also called for a massive initiative for checking pollution/contamination in the lake and preservation of flora and fauna. Prominent among others who accompanied the Youth Congress leader included Mohd. Din, Uttam Singh, Som Nath, Shiv Dutt, Romesh Kumar, Pankaj, Kuldip Singh, Charan Dass, Faquir Chand, Singha Ram, Nirmala Devi, Mam Din, Sourabh, Tahir, Sham Lal, Som Nath, Om Parkash, sarpanches, panches and other prominent people.
