Seeded cueists Ashok, Ishan, Vishal, Kamal, Sumesh, Jaideep and Sheetal stormed into the pre quarterfinals of Senior Snooker in the ongoing 16 Jammu District Billiards and Snooker championship being played at Billiards Hall M.A. stadium here today. In the second round matches played today, Ashok Rapheal beat Abhishek Goswami by 3-0 78-20, 51-26 and 79-45 in the first match. Ishan Choudhary beat Bhanu Pathania by same 3-0 margin 54-20, 60-10 and 56-41. Vishal Abrol beat Sahil Aggarwal by 3-0 41-29, 50-12 and 45-38. Sumesh Tirki beat Anil Kumar by 68-05, 59-19, 46-24, Jaideep Manocha beat Akhil Tandon by 66-58, 51-20 and 63-40, Sheetal Gandotra beat Anit Singh by 58-33, 54-28 and 62-2, Kamal Rohmetra beat Sahil by 59-53, 71-60 and 87-32 and Vishal K. Mehra beat Sachin Sant by 3-2 in a keen contest 58-51, 63-30, 45-47, 21-52 and 57-16. The pre quarterfinals will be played tomorrow. However, the entries for senior snooker will close on 1-11-2006.
