| Indian TV channels banned in Pakistan | | | New Delhi, July 27: Pakistan has banned transmission of Indian TV channels, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
"Pakistan has banned the transmission of Indian TV channels. The ban on Indian news channels is strictly enforced, in particular," Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi said in reply to a question.
He said the Pakistan Film Censor Baord recently permitted public screening of Indian films 'Taj Mahal' and 'Mughal-e-Azam'.
"This was stated to be a one-time exception," he said.
Financial proceeds from the screenings were stated to be utilised for the victims of last year's earthquake. |
