Amit guides PG Law and Sciences to 109 runs win | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, October 11: First class cricketer, Amit Baloria today helped the combined side of PG Law and Sciences to register a big 109 runs win over Kawa Institute in the first round match of the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament at University of Jammu grounds, here. Amit, who earlier made highest 61 runs, later claimed two wickets to emerge as man of the match. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, PG Law and Sciences set a target of 180 runs for the loss of five wickets in 15 overs game. In reply, Kawa Institute bowled out for 70 runs in 12 overs. Otherwise 20 overs a side game was reduced to 15 overs due to showers which caused delayed start of the match. Opener Amit Baloria played superb innings of 25-ball 61 runs studded with seven sixes and two boundaries. Another opener, Rohit Pal Sharma and Lokesh Kumar also played well contributing 47 and 28 runs respectively. From Kawa Institute, Rohti Chalgotra took two wickets and Devinder Kumar bagged one. Later, in need of near 12 runs per over, Kawa Institute played under pressure and the whole side bowled out for 70 runs in 12 overs. Rohit Chalgotra was only batsman who touched the double figure mark with 11 runs in his account. From PG Law and Sciences, Hemanshu Sharma, Azhar Usman, Rohit Pal Sharma and Amit Baloria shared two wickets each.
