| DGP asked to provide security to chief editor of local English daily | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 11: Justice Sunil Hali of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing in a petition filed by PN Sharma, Chief Editor of a Local English Daily, seeking security as there was threats from various sides, after hearing Sr. Adv DC Raina appearing for the petitioner issued notice to Director General of Police J&K, Inspector General of Police, Supt of Police, Police Line Jammu returnable within four weeks. It is contended that petitioner is a journalist and the security cover provided to him has been withdrawn. It is alleged that he WAS facing harassment from various elements while performing his professional duties. Meanwhile, Court has directed DGP J&K to provide security to the petitioner as journalist.
