Omar has eroded sanctity of constitution: Andrabi
10/11/2010 9:44:53 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 11 : Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) chief Darakhshan Andrabi has alleged that Omar Abdullah who has taken oath of allegiance to the constitution has eroded the sanctity of the constitution by making speech on J&K’s accession in Legislative Assembly.
Addressing media persons, Andrabi said, ‘Omar has lost the right to lead the House’.
She also expressed concern that Central government showed no reaction to such a big political shift by a Chief Minister which has zeroed the national policy on J&K.
She accused Omar of endorsing the ideology of separatists like Syed Ali Shah Geelani who has been questioning J&K’s status and its accession with India since last more than two decades.
, ‘If Central Government has no objection to the attitude of Omar than what is the difficulty in installing Geelani as the leader of the state officially,” Andrabi mocked.
She quoted that on one hand Farooq Abdullah declares J&K as an integral part of India and one the other his son challenges even the accession of the state with India which is very unfortunate and uncalled for.
Referring to the statement made during his speech in Assembly that Kashmir was the most important entity in J&K, she said that it was deliberate move of the Chief Minister to arouse regional conflicts.
She however said that speech of Omar in Legislative Assembly will result into dire consequences and Centre have to take serious note.
Among others who were present in the press conference included Ajay Kumar, Saleema Banoo, Abdul Majeed Shash, Mohan Lal and Ajay Raina.
