A militant was apprehended, two others fled away, while the death toll in Kasbali in Mendhar encounter rose to three with the killing of one more terrorist.
A Police spokesman said that Gool Police and 58 RR launched a joint search operation at Kallaanwali Sildhar to apprehend the militants. The militants fired upon the search party, which was affectively replied resulting into an encounter. However, two militants managed to escape taking the advantage of thick forest, while one militant of LeT outfit identified as Riaz Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid Hajam of Bandachan was apprehended along with .303 modified magazine and 11 rounds. One 12 Bore Rifle was also recovered from the encounter site.
The captured militant stated that he along with two other militants namely Abdul Gani and Abu Muslim were present at the encounter site, however both of them managed to escape from the site.
The arrested militant is being interrogated and some vital clues are expected and in the meantime search operation has been intensified to apprehend the escaped militants.
The spokesman said that one more terrorist was killed at Kasblari encounter taking the death toll to three. One AK 56 rifle along with one magazine and 140 rounds were recovered from the possession of the slain militant.
