25 Rajouri cyclists to cover 1085 km in 11 days | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Oct 12: In its first ever event in Rajouri and Poonch, a cycling expedition has been kicked off from Rajouri to national capital Delhi in which the cyclists will cover 1085 kilometers within 11 days. As per reports, army managed a cycle expedition from Rajouri to New Delhi which was flagged off today by General Officer in Commanding of Ace of Spades Division from Alpha Gate Rajouri. The motto of the expedition is “Ajeet Hain, Abheet Hain”. A large number of senior army officers and civil administration were present on the occasion. The event was organised in keeping with the present heartbeat of the nation as it is celebrating spirit of sports and adventure, showcasing one of the biggest international events in the form of Commonwealth Games at New Delhi. The expedition aimed top rekindle the spirit of sports and adventure amongst the young soldiers as also the youth of Poonch and Jhallas area. A total of 25 cyclist from army including five local volunteer youths from Jhallas are participating in the event the expedition which will be traversing across the mountains of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pardesh and Utrakhand before getting into the plains of Utter Pradesh and finally rolling into the national capital New Delhi on October 24. The expedition during its course will be covering a distance of 1085 kilometers with over 750 kilometers of difficult mountainous and hilly terrain.
