| Court grants bail to Patwari | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 12: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu AK Koul allowed the bail application of Patwari Krishan Lal previously posted as Patwar Halqa Baga Kot Tehsil Mahore District Reasi who was caught red-handed by the VOJ team on October 2, 2010 while receiving illegal gratification of Rs 5000/- from the complainant.
Court after hearing both the sides observed that petitioner caught red-handed in a trap while receiving illegal gratification of Rs 5000 on October 2, 2010. It has been stated by prosecution in open court that his custody is no more required because all the information has already been collected from him.
Court is of the view that prosecution has failed to make out a case for rejection of bail. The petitioner is in custody since last 10 days and the investigation is almost complete as stated by the prosecution. So detaining him further would mean punishing him before Trial and allowed the bail application with the direction to release the petitioner from custody provided he furnished a personal bond in amount of Rs 25000 and a surety in the like amount.
