Congress, BJP woo voters | Polling for LAHDC on Oct 16 | | M Ramzan Khan EARLY TIMES REPORT LEH, 12 Oct: As the campaign deadline for the 4th general election Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh which is scheduled to go to the polls on16th of this month, is going to end soon, the race for showing their strength by different political parties gets momentum. After yesterday’s show of strength by Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), first time after the Ladakh Union Territory Front (LUTF) merged with it, it was the turn of Congress today to flex its muscle power in the electoral battlefield as it organised a rally and road show. Addressing a huge rally at Plpo Ground here, Congress leaders counter the allegations which the BJP yesterday leveled against the party. Congress leaders questioned BJP's claims of secularism and said that if BJP treats all alike than why it still don't come with the report of Gujarat riots. It is quite clear that BJP want to project itself as secular at the time of election but on ground they are the most fundamental party, said Congress leaders while addressing a huge rally at Polo Ground Leh. Though BJP brought national leaders for campaigning, the Congress party did not come up with any popular face of the from outside Ladakh and it preferred to rely on local leaders including present MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora, who left no stone unturned to woo the voters.
