| Sailing expedition by NCC naval unit | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: Sailing expedition is being undertaken by 1 J&K Naval Unit NCC, Srinagar under the aegis of NCC Directorate at Gobind Sagar Lake (HP) of river Satluj.
Expedition comprises of 35 Cadets, 15 senior wing girl cadets and 20 senior wing boys from different Degree Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of the executive officer 1 J&K naval unit NCC Srinagar. Contingent of cadets and instructors left Srinagar for Bilaspur (HP) on 03 Oct 2010 by road covering almost 460 kms and started the Sailing Expedition at Bilaspur on Oct 5, 2010 in three sailing boats.
They will proceed to Lathiana, Bangana and back to Bilaspur through different routes covering a distance of approximately 450 kms in 10 days. Aim of this expedition is to meet all the aims of NCC and in addition to develop spirit of adventure and self confidence in young boys and girls, familiarize them with sailing, boat pulling, developing self confidence and ultimately achieve national integration. Expedition is expected to be completed on October 13, 2010 and contingent will return back to Srinagar unit on October 14, 2010.
