| Itoo's order gathering dust | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Oct 12: Although Government has strictly directed then Deputy Commissioner Rajouri in December 2009 to vacate the hostel and charge rent from these officers within a week from the issuance of the order, 10 months have passed and the action is still awaited.
Sources said that government had already instructed in December 2009 to vacate this Hostel but no action was taken. Sources said that Sakina Itoo, Minister for Social Welfare had directed Deputy Commissioner Rajouri vide letter number PS/HM/SW/2009/363 dated 23-12-2009 marked as "URGENT" for vacating the hostel at the earliest. The letter read "It has been brought into my notice that one portion of Boys Pahari Hostel Rajouri has been un-authorisedly occupied by CEO Rajouri for residential purpose and another portion has been un-authorisedly occupied by Zilla Sainik Board, Rajouri. The accommodation is under un-authorised occupation from last 5 years as a result of which the deserving candidates are deprived of the facility for which huge amount has been spent by the department. Deputy Commissioner Rajouri may issue necessary orders on priority for getting this accommodation vacated within one week and the concerned departments may be asked to pay the rent on this account from the date the accommodation has been occupied". Sakina Itoo had herself signed the orders to DDC Rajouri but the order is reportedly gathering dust somewhere. |
