Change of command at Air Force Station Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 13: Air Commodore Nitin Sathe assumed the command of Air Force Station Jammu as Air Officer Commanding vice Group Captain Ghar Singh. A colourful and splendid ceremonial parade was conducted to mark the occasion in consonance with service tradition and ethos. The parade was commanded by Group Captain Deshpal Singh, the Chief Operations Officer of the station. The air warriors in crisp blue uniform exhibited smart drill on the martial tune. The air warriors and the spectators were overwhelmed with the beat of parade band. The families of air warriors also witnessed the parade. Group Captain Ghar Singh addressed air warriors and their families on the occasion and thanked them and expressed his gratitude for their sense of involvement. He congratulated all the air warriors who are instrumental in bringing laurels to the station in all sphere of activities. Air Commodore Nitin Sathe was commissioned in IAF in flying branch in the year 1984. He is an NDA alumni and a graduate from distinguished institute of DSSC, Wellington. He has put in distinguished service in IAF in various capacities. He has vast experience in flying. He was tasked towards operating in Car Nicobar air base in the aftermath of unfortunate Tsunami episode and he proved his mettle by making it operational and bringing it up to operational standards. Prior to taking over command of Air force station Jammu, he held appointment of Command Intelligence Officer in an important Operational Command. He was also a part of United Nations mission in Congo.
