PDP stands for regional parity, empowerment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT LEH, OCT 13: People Democratic Party (PDP) stands for regional parity and empowerment besides state’s integrity. This was stated by the senior leader and MLA Nizamudin Bhat in a huge public rally in Polo Ground Leh Ladakh. This was the first such big rally in Leh ever since emergence of party in which people from all walks of life participated. Bhat said that Mufti Mohammed Sayeed during his tenure as Chief Minister did his best to empower Ladakh through Hill development Council delegating powers for this institution and in future also the party will stand for gross root development through these regional institutions which led to the vast development in the region and generation of employment. He reiterated that his party will make more powerful and efficient these institutions as today they have been derailed from it. Bhat sought solidarity with the people of Ladakh and their help to bring the state out of the morose through which it is going today particularly in the Kashmir Valley. On this occasion, District President Ladakh Tashi Gyalson said that state government has failed on all fronts to mitigate miseries of the common masses. “Since 2009 when Omar Abdullah has taken over as Chief Minister, problems of common masses have been mounting due to indifferent and casual approach being adopted by the coalition to address the basic issues confronting the masses” He said that state has been gripped with unprecedented crises due to non availability of ration in the government runs depots, scarcity of drinking water in most parts of the state coupled with the severe power curtailments and rising unemployment. Failure of state government to check galloping prices of essential commodities has further compounded woes of the commoners.
