Army organizes ex-servicemen rally | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Oct 13: In another move to provide a platform for addressing the problems being faced by the local populace an ex-servicemen Rally was organised by this formation in the pristine environs of Skurbuchan, a remote village near Batalik on October 10. A large number of senior army and civilian officials attended the function.
The rally witnessed a spectacular display of jointmanship between army and civil administration to stage such a large scale event which was attended by many veterans and ‘Veer Naaries’ (War Widows). The Army expressed ineptness of the nation, to the soldiers and ‘Veer Naaries’ for the supreme sacrifices made to safeguard the sovereignty of our country.
Various stalls were put up by the army and civil Agencies to redress the grievances of the ex-servicemen and also to make them aware about the welfare programmes/activities being sponsored by the Army and Civil Agencies including banks. To motivate the children and dependants of the ex-Servicemen to join the Indian army, an equipment display showcasing various equipment held by the army was also organised at the location.
The rally reflected the sincerity and resolve of the army for recognition of their Ex-servicemen and ‘Veer Naaris’. The event also showcased the commitment of Army and civil administration in working together for providing a better quality of life to the locals of Skurbuchan.
