Court awards seven years RI to man for committing murder of wife | | | Early Times Report REASI, Oct 13: Principal Sessions Judge, Reasi, R.K. Wattal today awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to accused Neelam Singh s/o Vijay Ram r/o Bhagan Kot Tehsil, Mahore who had beaten up severely his wife Bmro Devi who succumbed to injuries while shifting to hospital. According to police case, the brother of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police post Chasana on November 23, 2008 that accused was married to his sister Bmro Devi for last 15/ 16 years and was having three daughters and one son. The accused often used to harass, beat and torture her wife on false pretext. On the day occurrence the accused had beaten severely his wife and while shifting to hospital she succumbed to the injuries. It was alleged in the complaint that accused with criminal intention had beaten the deceased to death. On this complaint a case u/s 302 RPC was registered and after completion of the investigation the challan was presented in the Court of law. Principal Sessions Judge, Reasi, R.K. Wattal after hearing all sides and after considering the facts of the case and also gone through the statements of the witnesses converted section 302 RPC into section 304-I RPC and convicted the accused to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven years for the commission of offence u/s 304-I RPC. The accused who was present in the court was later sent to Central Jail, Jammu. JNF
