Panther Party loosing grip in state | People ignoring their bandh calls | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 13: The J&K National Panthers Party seems to be loosing its grip over the people in the state as is evident from the recent bandh call given by its Supremo Prof. Bhim Singh in Jammu against the discrimination and other issues. No doubt, Prof Bhim Singh has been in politics for more than 50 years, but his charisma has not even wooed the people of Jammu region and what to talk of Kashmir and Ladakh. Pertinent to mentioning here that Panthers Party is a national party with its presence in different states, including capital Delhi, but could not make the presence felt in other states. The internationally acclaimed politician, one time friend of Yassir Arafat and Saddam Hussain, could not even became chief minister of the state or could attain other high position in the state. Now his job has remained limited to organize press conferences, from Delhi or Jammu but practically people have started ignoring his calls . Even his intra heart talks with people participating from both sides of Kashmir yielded no results. He also remained in forefront for filling public interest litigation with no positive results. Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, has expressed surprise over the frustration and vested interests among the angry Kashmir leaders who have been wandering from plebiscite, to Pakistan, to Azadi and now have started showing their teeth to the Muslim intellectuals and Deobandh. The Panthers Party Supremo had stated that Kashmiri angry leaders had been contesting elections for the Assembly and the Parliament since 1962 but the rigging and manipulation by the planted governments did not allow them fufulfill their ambition to enter the Assembly. In 1987, Dr. Farooq Abdullah who was reimposed in Jammu and Kashmir as the Chief Minister by Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, the them Prime Minister of India massacred the very foundation of democracy and the angry leaders who were fighting in the name of MUF (Muslim United Front) were mauled by rigging and electoral manipulation by National Conference which became a turning point in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. Both National Conference and Congress have been responsible for turning the MUF leadership into so-called Hurriyat Conference. Prof. Bhim Singh appreciated the stand of Deobandh that J&K is and shall remain integral part of India. The Kashmiri angry leadership understands well that they would not be able to live in a military dictatorship for a day nor they can survive in the so-called Azadi as one-third of J&K is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan and almost same is under illegal occupation of China. The recent bandh call given by Panther Party in Jammu evokes no response is an eye opener for the party to take remedial measures if Panther MLA’s would have shown resistance, when CM Omar Abdullah was challenging the accession of J&K with India, the story would have been different. No doubt, Harshdev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Yash Paul Kundal have left no stone unturned to raise nationalistic voice against discrimination with Jammu. Prof. Bhim Singh should also take one line and should hesitate to give different statements at different times. Panther Party still can become the voice of people from both regions, but it has to take remedial measures.
