| Four drug smugglers held, over 6 kg charas seized | | | JAMMU: Over six kilogram charas was seized in different raids conducted by police and CID (CI) Counter Intelligence sleuths in city and Narwal Baala area today. Four drug smugglers have also arrested on the spot with the consignments while hunt is on to nab the fifth one.
City police, on specific information, laid a trap in the area and arrested two drug smugglers identified as Raju Giri of Kanpur and Ram Dass of Uttar Pradesh. A consignment of half kilogram charas was seized from them during frisking.
Meanwhile, CI sleuths laid a trap near ASCOMS, Sidhra on National Highway and intercepted a truck which was coming from Srinagar. On being frisked, a cache of over five kilogram charas was seized. Two drug smugglers whose name has not been disclosed by the police have been arrested on spot. On being interrogated at Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC), Jammu they revealed the name of their third accomplice and manhunt was launched at Narwal Baala area to arrest him. |
