Remain vigilant in LAHDC polls, BJP to contesting candidates | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 14: BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas today said that the party will not tolerate any type of misuse of government machinery in the forthcoming election of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) scheduled to be held on October 16. Manhas said this after returning back from election campaign along with different leaders of BJP . He said that number of complaints were received about misuse of official vehicles by the different ministers and political leaders belonging to NC and Congress. Manhas said that the party also apprehended that government will try to interfere into fair elections by use of police and administrative machinery. He, meanwhile, appealed all the contesting candidates and workers to remain vigilant as there are chances that there will be attempts to purchase / lure voters. He, further said that they will monitor every development regarding Leh-Ladakh elections and have formulated a cell at party headquarters to keep a vigil upon local and state authorities in order to ensure free and fair elections. BJP also appealed to the voters to exercise their power positively in favour of BJP candidates so that the party can fight for Union Terriroty status and also solve the local problems faced in the remote area.
