Former NC MLA joins PDP

Jammu, October 14: Impressed by the pro-people policies and programmes of the party, senior National Conference (NC) leader and former MLA from Raipur Domana Satpal Lakhotra today joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presence of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Satpal Lakhotra a prominent leader of NC remained MLA of Raipur Domana Assembly segment from the year 1996 to 2002.
Satpal Lakhotra has written a letter to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in which he had requested the former Chief Minister to enroll him as member of the PDP because he is impressed by the policies and programmes of PDP and leadership qualities of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who as a Chief Minister of the State has set an example of good governance.
While welcoming Satpal Lakhotra in the party, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed hoped that with his joining, the party would be further strengthened in rural areas of Jammu. He asked Lakhotra to work for the development and betterment of the people.
Later a function was held at PDP office in which senior party leaders felicitated Satpal Lakhotra for joining the party. A large number of party workers were present in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Satpal Lakhotra said that he has decided to join PDP because this is the only party which is committed for equitable development of the State.
He said that as Chief Minister of the State Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has set an example of good and accountable governance in the State.
Prominent among others who addressed the function included T S Bajwa, vice President, Thakur Balbir Singh, general secretary, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, ex-Minister, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Falail Singh, Surjeet Kour, Susheela Jamwal, Jagjit Singh Jagga, Suram Singh, Chatter Singh Saini, Daljeet Singh Dicky, K K Sharma, Rashpal Billoria, Choudhary Chuni Lal, Varinder Singh Sonu, Ashwani Kohli, Master Bhagwan Dass, Suresh Sharma, Balbir Singh, Kamal Sharma, Bikram Singh Langeh, Delay Ram, Ashok Sharma, E Peter and Vimal Sharma.
