| Worsening education scenario in Kathua | | SPARSH holds protest, seeks action within days | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 14: Activists of non-governmental organization SPARSH today held a protest demonstration against Chief Education Officer (CEO) for not doing anything to improve worsening condition of all the Government Schools in Kathua.
The protesters raised slogans against CEO Kathua at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park. While addressing the protest, Chairman of SPARSH Manuj Kesar said that condition of Government Middle School and the Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kathua where only 70 students are studying with only single computer, is worsening with each passing day. He added that two years back, few computers were stolen from school.
While the CEO Kathua has given us many assurances to take some immediate steps to uplift standard of the schools and also immediately start construction of wall of Government Middle School (GMS) Kathua which is situated near Ramlila ground but so far, nothing has been done.
They said that if immediate steps are not taken for the construction of wall within one week, organization be forced to launch a massive agitation against the negligence of CEO Kathua. Those who participated in the protest included Aditya Verma, Parul, Jonny, Ajay Sharma, Sahil and others.
