Blast rock a Mendher village | Civilian injured, police initiates investigation | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Oct 14: In a grenade blast one civilian received serious injuries in his village Saroti of border district Poonch. Injured person have been shifted to Government Medical College for intensive treatment. As per reports, a local Sadakat Ali son of Mohammad Sadeeq of village Saroti in Mendher of Poonch was injured in grenade blast in front of his house. As per eyewitnesses, the grenade put on the foot path by some unknown people exploded when buffalo of Sadakat Ali passed through it. In the explosion, Sadakat received splinter injuries while his buffalo was also injured seriously. Following the incident, villagers shifted Sadakat Ali to Sub District Hospital Mendher where the doctor after giving him first aid treatment referred him to Government Medical College Jammu. Doctors of SDH said that he needed intensive care as many splinters were found entered in his body. Meanwhile police team headed by Station House Officer of Police Station Gursai rushed to the village and started investigation. Although Assistant Superintendent of Police Poonch Yougal Manhas said that they are investigating who had put the grenade in the area, the relatives have doubts on some surrender militant of the area. Talking to media persons, father of Sadakat, Mohammad Sadeeq has alleged that a surrendered militant in the area used to threaten them and the grenade might have been put by him. "I doubt that a surrendered militant who always used to threaten us to death might have attempted to kill my son", Mohammad Sadeeq alleged. Police said that they cannot say anything in this matter till the investigation is completed. "We have just started investigation and can comment about some ones involvement only when it is completed", ASP Poonch Yougal Manhas said. |
