| Rakesh enters in mega final of bhaint contest | | | Early Times Report
KATRA, Oct 15: In All India Devotional Song Competition, being organized as a part of Navratra Festival at Yog Ashram, Rakesh Malhotra of Jammu, Gursharn Kour of Jammu were adjudged first and second winners while as Shivanker Bharti, Rabjot Singh both of Jammu and Zuhi Raj of Mahrastra equally shared third prize in the contest.

As a part of on-going Navratra Festival being organized by Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) and Department of Tourism in collaboration with District Administration and local organizations at Katra, a scintillating cultural procession depicting rich culture of the state and other parts of the country was taken out from Asia Crossing, where the Minister of state for Tourism, PHE, Revenue and Relief, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani who was the chief guest on the 7th Navratra, lit the sacred Joyti before the start of impressive procession.
The impressive Shoba Yatra- cum- cultural procession was taken out from the Asia Crossing which after passing through the main bazaars and other locations of the Katra town culminated at GHSS, Katra. Various Jhankies like traditional Kud by Khem Raj & Party, Itarsi Band, Bal Devta’s roop, Bakerwals, Zorawar Singh, and various scenes from Ramayana and Mahabharata mesmerized the large number of devotees and huge crowd present on the occasion.
