| Law to decide Afzal's destiny: Bhardwaj | | |
Gawalior, October 30 Union Law Minister Hansraj Bhardwaj has said that law would take its own course with regard to proposed execution of Mohd Afzal Guru, the parliament attack case convict. Talking to reporters, Bhardwaj said "People are needlessly politicizing and thereby sensationalizing the issue. As per the constitution, a convict enjoys the right to approach the President even after the Supreme Court has issued its judgement". Pointing out that Afzal did the same, the Minister added that President then seeks the opinion of state concerned, the Home Ministry and other before taking a decision. When pressed for the Congress opinion, he shot back and said "what has the Congress or BJP got to do with this matter?"
