Romeo force flags off Sadbhavna tour for students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 15: As part of its initiatives to reach out to the local population and win hearts and minds of the people, the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavna organised an educational tour titled ‘Karvan-e-Aman’ for 23 school children and two teachers belonging to remote and far flung areas of Surankote tehsil of Poonch district. The tour was flagged off by the Sector Commander Rashtriya Rifles. Prominent military and civil dignitaries present on the occasion interacted with the participants and asked them to spread the message of peace and brotherhood to the places of visit. The tour scheduled to Jammu, Delhi, Jaipur and Ajmer is being conducted by a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo). The tour will serve as an excellent opportunity for the children to experience the vibrance, glory and culture of modern India. The aim of the tour is to instill a sense of awareness and national pride in the young minds and expose them to the development, quality of life and historical places of interest in different parts of the country. The main attraction of the tour this time is that the children will get the rare opportunity to travel by air from Jammu to Delhi and also experience rail travel from Ajmer to Jammu. The tour includes visit to the Akshardham temple, Pragati Maidan, Jantar Mantar, India Gate, Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Rashrtapati Bhawan in Delhi. At Jaipur, the children will visit Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jai Gadh Fort, Jal Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and City Palace. The tour will also be visiting the famous Ajmer Sharif dargah at Ajmer. On their return to Jammu, the children will make a stopover at Bahu Fort.
