Cong responsible for ills in J&K: Prof Chaman
10/16/2010 12:13:28 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 15: Holding Congress responsible for many ills in Jammu and Kashmir including the neglect of Ladakh despite its being a most sensitive area, the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta alleged that it was unfortunate that this party has come to be a B-team of the National Conference, which is genetically a communal and regional outfit.
This was stated here today by Prof. Gupta on his return from week long visit to many areas of land locked Ladakh bordering China and PoK occupied Kashmir.
The BJP leader pointed out that in the entire vast area of about over 95,000 sq. kms, Ladakh has been made an appendix of Kashmir Valley, which is confined to just 16000 sq. kms.
There is just one Degree College and not having even a campus of any University although Kashmir has been bestowed with three Universities and several technical and medical institutions.
Prof Gupta was there in Ladakh to take part in the electioneering for his party which is for the first time contesting the elections to the Ladakh Hill Autonomous Development Council in a big way after the merger of Ladakh Union Territory Front in their party.
He said the BJP would strive hard to ensure due share to Ladakh in various fields of life as being the part of the big country.
BJP leader lashed upon the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre and said that because of lack of vision and being devoid of national outlook the Congress is more responsible for complex situation in the troubled Valley of Kashmir rather than the National Conference, PDP and even the Hurriyat Conference which is operating at the tunes of fundamentalists backed by the ISI of Pakistan.
Prof Gupta said that legally and constitutionally J&K is an integral part of India but it was unfortunate that even some Central leaders did not find anything objectionable in the most controversial speech delivered by the State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the State Assembly on October 6.
