| 1 killed, 6 hurt in Inova-truck collision | | |
Jammu: In a late night head-on collision between an Inova cab and a truck on the national highway at Bali Nullah near Udhampur, about 65 km from here, a man was killed and six others were wounded critically. The dead and the injured were travelling in the Inova, police sources said.
The Inova (JK04B/1781) was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu when it collided head-on with the Srinagar-bound truck (JK05D/7121) at about 11.55 pm.
In the incident, while one person lost his life instantly, six others survived with severe injuries, the sources added. Sources identified the dead as Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad, son of Peer Noor of Srinagar, and the injured as Basharat, son of Mohammad
Younas of Srinagar, Inova driver Mohammad Din, son of Abdul Gaffoor of Budgam, Dr Satpal, son of Karam Chand of New Plots, Sudesh Yadav, son of Kailash Yadav of Uttar Pradesh, Kartar Singh, son of Inder Singh of Mukerian, Punjab, and Sahil Wani of Anantnag. The injured were hospitalised. Police had registered a case in this connection. Sources said the truck driver was absconding and a hunt was on to apprehend him. |
