| Jora reviews measures for power supply for winter months | | |
Srinagar, October 30
A meeting of PDD Engineers was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Power, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora.
The Minister asked the authorities to gear up its all units to ensure adequate availability of power supply to the consumers in the winter months. He said that power supply in metered areas will be availableround the clock adding that however the curtailment programme will be framed to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the consumers.
He instructed the concerned to speed up installation of electric meters and stressed for launching special drive to recover electricity tariff.
The Minister expressed satisfaction over the commissioning of 400 KV Kishenpora-Wagoora line saying that it will lead power stabilization in the valley particularly during winter months.
He said it was due to the personal interest taken by the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad that the line was commissioned ahead of schedule bringing to the consumers in the valley.
