J&K CII reviews relief and rehabilitation program in Leh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, October 16: Confederation of Indian Industry, J&K Council reviewed its ongoing relief and rehabilitation program in Leh in a meeting held here today. The meet was held under the chairmanship of Vicky Mahajan. The CII J&K State Council members apprised the meeting about the ongoing relief activities of the organization in Leh. It was disclosed that the work would be completed in four phases. CII has already mobilized relief material comprising of utility items, medicines, dry ration worth Rs 1.2 crores, through its members to the affected areas in Leh. In Phase –II, the organization distributed items like woolen clothes, needle sets for stitching their typical Ladakhi clothes, jackets, kitchen utensils, solar lanterns, water purification tablets, hand tools, edible oil, sugar tea, salt etc at 21 locations. In phase III, the CII has decided to construct 50 houses, 13 at Samboo village and rest at any place as identified by the Administration. Mahajan said that four member team of CII is already stationed at Leh since August 14, and is coordinating the activities there. Earlier Mahajan was introduced to all the Council members and Aakanksha Kumar, who has recently taken over as head of CII J&K state secretariat. She was earlier heading Delhi State office of the CII. Other members of the Council present included Raju Choudhary, Sanjay Puri, Jasvinder Singh, Varun Singla, J K Mengi, Babar Afzal and Ravnish Gulati.
