SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 30 Describing late Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi as a towering personality who scarified her life for the cause of nation and worked throughout her life for upliftment of people in general and downtrodden in particular, Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad said that leaders like Mrs. Gandhi are most rare in the world and take birth after centuries. In a message on the martyrdom of Mrs Indira Gandhi, Mr Azad paid rich tributes to her and highlighted her role in building the country on all fronts and giving it repute and respect in the comity of nations. He said Mrs. Gandhi firmly believed in secular values, propagated amity and brotherhood among all sections of the society and preached for jointly carrying forward the nation towards glory and development as well as social fronts. Chief Minister said that Mrs. Indira Gandhi laid a strong edifice for strong India and popularized the Indian belief in coexistence, mutual trust, goodwill and better relations. Mr Azad said that best way to remember Mrs. Indira Gandhi and pay homage to her is to strengthen the secular fabric of the country and work together to face all challenges and march ahead on road to progress.
