More model villages being developed in state: Salathia | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 16: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia today said that the government is embarking on a plan to take up more villages across the state to develop these as model villages. Addressing a public gathering at Bari-Brahamana after laying the foundation stone for developing a public park at Dhiansar involving a cost of Rs 23 Lakh, the Minister said that the Chief Minister, Mr Omar Abdullah is visiting Vijaypur constituency on October 20 for laying the foundation stone at border village Avtaal which has been identified for developing as model village. He said that a whooping Rs 9 crore will be spend for developing modern facilities and civic amenities in the village. He said the facilities being developed would also benefit to 22 hamlets by way of developing link roads and lanes. He also announced that an Ayurvedic hospital, at a cost of Rs 60 Lakh will also be established in the area for the benefit of the border population.
