| Durga Puja celebrated with fervour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 16: In connection with Navratra festival, the celebration of Durga Pooja ended at the A.G. Office Colony with the visharjan of idol of maa durga at the bank of river chenab in Akhnoor. The pooje began with the installation of Idol of goddess, maa durga in the beautifully decorated pandal created for the purpose with chanting of hymns and mantras which resident of the colony along with maa devotees from adjoining localities participated in large number. The pandal of maa durga was well decorated with buntings and lightings etc and with order adorable and decorating materials etc. The idols of maa durga along with other deities were so beautiful and captivating that the genius and craftmanship of the man behind the creation of the idols was quite eloquent and discermible, attracting the rapt gaze of all devotees of maa durga. The aarti was conducted by the priest Gautam Bannerjee from Kolkata especially invites for this solemn occasion. The speciality about the conduct of aarti of maa durga was that it was held daily amidst beating of drums with clinging champs of bells and with fragrance spreqad by the assiduous burning (Hawan Samagri)
