| Ekta- Dandiya Utsav held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 17: MV International School celebrated Ekta-Dandiya Utsav 2010 with lots of fun and frolic at the school campus .
The chief guest Yashpal Kundal MLA Samba graced the ocassion and was given a cordial welcome by the school management, staff and students .
Amongst the guest were present J L Sharma SSP Samba , Sidco members , Savita Abrol vice chairperson of the school and vice principal Rama Jamwal.
The programme focused on communal harmony, humanism, unity, non - violence and peace for all.
The cultural programme was comprised of entertaining competitions like ‘tie the pagri’ for men and ‘matki race’ for women.
Garba dance was the major attraction of the function .
Earlier the director of the school Gourav Abrol welcomed the gathering and congratulated the students and teachers for their performances . He also greeted the gathering on the eve of Ram-Navmi festival .He further related that music and dance has a power of forming the character and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young children.
