Rehmat Ali wins Mission Dosti dangal at Mathwar

JAMMU, Oct17: Indian wrestler, Rehmat Ali of Punjab lifted the title in the Ist Mission Dosti Rustem-e-Indo-Pak wrestling competition held at holy village Baba Ballo Dev Shathan Mathwar in district Jammu.
For the main title, Rehmat Ali defeated his counterpart from Pakistan, Yousaf Riaz of Lahore in an interesting bout that lasted for 17 minutes. Rehmat Ali was awarded silver Gadda, Patta and cash prize of Rs 11,000 while runners-up awarded Rs 10,000.

The competition was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association with the active support of Baba Ballo Dev Shathan Development Committee under the supervision of Baba Yash Paul Sharma and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma.

In other main contests, Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab beat Sumit (Delhi Keasri 2010); Kulbir Singh of Jammu beat Pakistani wrestler Safdar Ali of Lahore in 50 seconds; Muhammad Umair of Pakistani beat Benia of Udhampur; Ram Paul (Bhollu) of Haryana beat Pakistani wrestler Bilal Hussian, (Rustem-E-Lahore); Parveen Rana of Sat Paul Akhara Delhi beat Pakistani wrestler Maroof and Mantu of Akhara Lala Ram Delhi bt Pakistani wrestler Israr Hussain Awan (Rustem-E-Punjab).
Out of other six bouts, Indian wrestlers won five as against just one clinched by the Pakistnis.
Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma was chief guest in this competition. He complimented the organizers for providing the local people opportunity to witnessed world’s top wrestlers fighting in front of them.
Prominent among others present were Inderjeet Khajuria, Prithvi Raj Sharrma, Roshan Lal, Sohan Singh and Arjun Awardee Ashok Kumar as also coach Indian Style Wrestling team (Women), Raman Kumar, Om Parkash Sharma, SDPO Akhnoor, Mustaq Ahmad Chowdhary, SHO Gharota, Bushan Singh Manhas.
Members of the organizing Committee and those technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of Dangal were Baba Yash Paul Sharma, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Tilak Raj Sharma, Banarsi Lal Master, Mohan Dutt Lamberdar, Jagdish Dutt, Darshan Chand, Baldev Raj, Ami Chand, Om Parkash, Hari Chand Puran Chand, Yash Paul Patwari, Vijay Singh (Biju),Ranga Pahalwan, Mohd Fareed, and Krishan Lal Sharma ustad.
