JKBWA demands Economic-cum-Employment package | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 17: Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) has demanded Economic-cum-Employment Package from the government on the basis of ethnographic study of J&K Batwal community conducted by the planning commission of India in the year 1994. JKBWA held a meeting at Jaffarchak and was chaired by Captain Raj Kaith and said that so far the government has not provided any representation to the Batwal community members in it’s any forum and as such demanded berths in the J&K legislative council and J&K scheduled caste advisory board being headed by Swarn Lata. Association urged the chief minister to consider the memorandum and a number of communications dispatched to his Srinagar office and issued directions to the concerned authorities to take an immediate action on them so as to dispense the justice to the community members. Association clarified its stand that joining People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by its president Sat Pal Lakhotra, was his own decision to which it has no objection. Prominent among the others who attended the meeting were Kamal Singh, R L Kaith, Thoru Ram Tugga, Kamal Motan, Sarsa Ram, Chaman Lal Lakhotra and others.
