| JKBWA celebrates Shaheedi Divas | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 17: Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) celebrated 7th Shaheedi Divas of Shaheed Havaldar Tara Chand Lakhotra (Sena Medal) of 4th JAK Rifle at his native place Village Khour Slarian (Nandpur), who laid down his life defending national frontiers during “OP- PARAKARMA” on October 17, 2003 in Sunderbani sector.
MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan was the chief guest, Vijay Laxmi, Provincial President Women Wing, J&K, National conference, Jammu and Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, Ex MLC, were the guest of honours.
The function commenced with the wreath laying ceremony by the MLA Ajaz Jan.
In his address, Jan appreciated the role of jawans and all the ranks during the war 1947, 1962. 1965, 1971 & 1999 (Kargil War) and during other operations, including ‘OPRATION PRAKARMA’.
He stressed upon young generation for unity and integrity for the country. He appreciated the role of Defence, including Para Miltary Forces in defence and J&K Police in the State general, in the country particular.
Later Ramesh Motton thanked all the guests present on the occasion.
Other who spoke on the 7th Shaheedi Divas of Shaheed Hav. Tara Chand Lakhotra are Tarlook Motton, Rattan Lal Nand, Romesh Kath, Capt Dress Raj, Ex Sarpanch Monhar Lal,Vickey Dogra.others.
