JU to host All India Fencing in Dec | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 17: Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has allotted University of Jammu (JU) this year’s All India Inter-University (men and women) Fencing Championship from December 14 on the campus. This was disclosed by the Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau here. “Over 20 teams shall be participating in this three-day national event being hosted by JU under the banner of AIU,” Prof Singh told SAN. The competition would cost JU around Rs 25 lakh, including procurement of imported equipment and infrastructure. “The process of building required infrastructure has already started. We have placed the order with a Hungry based company,” he disclosed. Host JU has received a number of entries from the participating universities. “At least six universities, including Punjabi University Patiala, Kurkshetra University and Punjab University Chandigarh have already deposited their entries with us,” informed the Director. It is pertinent to mention here that the competition was allotted to Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar but later AIU assigned the task to JU.
