ASCOMS snatches thriller from Bishnah College | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, October 18: Acharya Shrichander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) today won a close contest beating Government Degree College Bishnah by one wicket to move into the next round of ongoing inter-college cricket tournament on the campus, here. Needing winning run in remaining two deliveries with last batsman on crease, ASCOMS hold their nerves and snatched the victory. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Bishnah College bowled out for 105 runs in 19.3 overs of the 20 overs match. Sahil Sharma was top scorer with 46 runs while Perm Pal and Suraj Parkash contributed 19 and 14 runs respectively. From ASCOMS, Aamir was most successful bowler with three for eight runs in four overs. Rajinder took two wickets, followed by Danish, Rajdeep Singh and Umar, who shared apiece each. Later, chasing the target, ASCOMS overhauled the opponent total in 19.5 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Rajdeep Singh made highest 24 runs while Viran Pal contributed 13-ball 16 runs. Prem Pal clinched four wickets for 14 runs in four overs he bowled. Sahil Sharma also bowled well and bagged two for 14. Today’s match was officiated by Vijay Dogra, Raj Kumar and Manu Khajuria.
