| BJP MLA meets Divisional Commissioner to redress peoples’ problems | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 18: Led by BJP former state president & MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, a deputation of prominent residents of Pakkhi Dhaki, Mubarak Mandi and Darbargarh localities of old city met the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, to register their protest against the unnecessary and repeated visits of the officials of PWD Deptt., thus harassing
them.
Briefing the Divisional Commissioner, the deputationists said that the PWD officials often visit their houses and start making measurements of the land in their possession saying that the area is to be demolished as it has been included in the Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex.
Ashok Khajuria told the Divisional Commissioner that these are the centuries old localities and the people living there are the legal owners of ancestral properties and should not be uprooted on the name of renovation and beautification of the Mubarak Mandi complex.
The Divisional Commissioner assured the deputation that they will not be disturbed and told them to contact him in case any official of the government department visits their house. Later, Ashok Khajuria constituted a team of local residents to interact with the MLA and the administration in case of any problem in future. The members of the deputation included Gopal Krishan Sharma, Rajinder Chopra, Ram Rattan Sharma, Mridu Sharma, Rahul Sharma and others. |
