| Arjun claims best cartoonist award in JU’s ‘Display Your Talent’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 18: Arjun Manhas from The School of Biotechnology,University of Jammu, was adjudged as the best Cartoonist in theongoing ‘Display Your Talent 2010-11’ organised by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu. It was the sixth day the “Display Your Talent” 2010-11, where cartooning and sketching competitions were conducted Kanwar Iqbal from Government Medical College, Jammu and Neeraj Sharma from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu, clinched second and third prize, respectively in the Cartooning Competition.
The Certificates of Merit in Cartooning were awarded to Ashiq Ali from the Government Degree College, Kishtwar, Shivali Rani from Department of Environmental Sciences and Farooq Ahmed from the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu.
The topics for the Cartooning events were “University Campus”, “Ticket Counter” and Commonwealth Games”.
Naresh Malhotra from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu bagged the first prize in Sketching Competition whereas Ramesh Kumar from the Government SPM.R College of Commerce, Jammu and Kanwar Iqbal from the Government Medical College, Jammu bagged the second and third prize, respectively in Sketching Competition.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Arjun Manhas from School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu and Abhishek Bandhu from the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu. Manoj Chopra, Dheeraj Nanda and Dr. Atul Sharma, were the adjudicators. Dr. Ritu Mahajan, was the Teacher Incharge for the Cartooning whereas
Dr. Hardeep Chahal for Sketching. Dr. P.S. Pathania, Registrar, University of Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion
Among others Prof Kuldeep K Sharma, Director, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance, Prof. N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. J.S. Tara, Director, Ramnagar Campus, Prof. Jasbir Singh, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr. Shailendra Singh, Associate Dean (SW), Dr. Munir Alam, Assistant Dean (SW) & Dr. Sanjay Bhatia, were also present on this occasion. Vijay Atri, Assistant Dean (CA) supervised both the events.
